Who we are

Two groups of people are covered here. Businesses who hire us, and visitors to the sites we host for those businesses. Where the difference matters, we say so.

What we collect

Information you hand us directly. On this site that is your name, your business name, your email address, your website if you have one, and anything you type into the message box. When you book a call, the calendar we use records your name, email address and the time you picked.

Information collected automatically. Our hosting keeps standard server logs, which include your IP address, browser type, the pages you opened and the time you opened them. We use these to keep the site running and to spot abuse.

Information from the sites we host. If you are a visitor on a site we built for one of our customers, we process what you send through that site, such as a contact form entry, a booking, or a conversation with the chatbot. We handle that information on behalf of that business, and their own privacy policy governs how they use it.

Payment information. Payments are handled by our payment processor. We see the fact that a payment succeeded and the last digits of the card. We never see or store full card numbers.

Why we use it

• To answer you, build your demo and run the service you are paying for.
• To send service messages such as booking confirmations, receipts and notices about your site.
• To keep our systems secure, prevent abuse and meet our legal obligations.
• To improve what we build, using patterns rather than the content of any one message.

We do not sell your information. We do not rent it, and we do not hand it to data brokers.

Text messages

This site asks for a phone number in one place: the booking calendar, which is run for us by GoHighLevel. We use that number to confirm your call, to reach you if something changes, and for nothing else. Booking a call does not sign you up for marketing messages of any kind.

Where a business we host uses our appointment reminders, that business collects consent from its own customers before any text message is sent. Consent is collected with a checkbox that is not ticked in advance, next to the phone field, and it is never a condition of booking or of buying anything. Every reminder programme carries the name of the business sending it.

Message frequency varies with your appointments. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving them, and reply HELP for help. You can also contact us at landon@hummingbird.cx or (734) 476 0843.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging consent, and the phone numbers collected for text messaging, are never shared with any third party. Information may be shared with the subcontractors who help deliver the messages, such as our messaging carrier, and with nobody else.

Who else sees your information

We use a small number of outside services to run the business, and they only see what they need to do their job. Those are our website hosting, our email provider, our booking calendar, our payment processor, our text messaging carrier, and the provider behind the chatbot. Each is bound to handle the information only on our instructions.

We also share information when the law requires it, when we need to protect someone from harm, or if the business is ever sold, in which case the buyer takes on the commitments in this policy.

Chatbot conversations

The chatbot answers from the information a business gives us about itself. Conversations are stored so the business can read them and so we can improve the answers. Please do not type payment details, passwords, medical details or other sensitive information into a chatbot. If you do and you tell us, we will delete it.

Cookies

This site uses only what it needs to work. It does not run advertising trackers. Where we or a customer add analytics, it is [ analytics provider ], and you can block it in your browser without breaking the site. The booking calendar sets its own cookies when you open it.

How long we keep it

Enquiries and demo requests are kept for two years, so we can pick up a conversation you started. Customer records and invoices are kept for seven years, because tax rules require it. Server logs are kept for ninety days. Chatbot conversations are kept for twelve months unless the business asks for a shorter window.

Security

Everything we run is served over an encrypted connection. Access to customer data is limited to the people on our team who need it. No system is perfect, so if a breach ever affects your information we will tell you and the relevant authority as quickly as the law requires.

Your choices

Write to us at landon@hummingbird.cx and you can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We will answer within thirty days. You can unsubscribe from any marketing email using the link at the bottom of it, and you can reply STOP to any text message. Service messages about a site we run for you will keep coming while the service is active.

Depending on where you live you may have further rights, such as the right to object to certain uses or to complain to your state authority. Ask us and we will walk you through it.

Children

This service is built for businesses and is not aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under thirteen. If you believe a child has sent us information, tell us and we will remove it.

Changes

If we change this policy we will change the date at the top, and for anything significant we will email our customers before it takes effect.
